Our Principals

My name is Deanna Frybarger and I'm honored to serve as the principal of Castroville Elementary School.

I was born and raised in Monterey County, and after graduating from Pepperdine University, I have dedicated the past 21 years to education, serving students and families in Arizona, Salinas, and Marina. Most recently, I had the privilege of serving as Assistant Principal at Marina Vista Elementary School.

I am passionate about supporting English Learners and partnering with teachers to strengthen instruction and student success. As a National Board-Certified Teacher in Early Childhood Generalist and the holder of a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, I believe every student deserves an inclusive, equitable learning environment where they can thrive. I am especially passionate about early literacy and helping build strong foundations for lifelong learning.

My husband is a middle school science teacher, and together we have two sons, Calvin and Oliver. Outside of school, I enjoy creating art, hiking, and spending quality time with my family playing board games.

I look forward to partnering with our students, families, and staff to create a positive, supportive school community where every child feels valued and empowered to succeed.
